Glass That Keeps the Heat Outside
On sun-baked walls, the glass package does more work than any other part of the window. Ask for a low solar heat gain coefficient and a low-E coating intended for the Deep South. These heat-reducing windows reflect much of the sun's infrared energy while still letting in daylight, so rooms stay brighter without turning into ovens by late afternoon. Tinted glass is another option, though it darkens the view. Exterior shading, such as porch roofs or awnings, can further reduce heat on the west side of the house.
Frames That Stand Up to UV and Wind
Constant sun can fade and chalk lower-quality vinyl and dry out wood finishes. Fiberglass frames and quality UV-stabilized vinyl resist that wear. On exposed sides of the house, we check the window's design pressure rating to make sure it suits the wind load, and we pay close attention to flashing so rain driven sideways doesn't find its way into the wall.
Doors That Seal Against Weather
Entry doors on windy, open lots benefit from compression weatherstripping, adjustable thresholds and solid anchoring into the framing. A storm door adds another layer of protection to an existing entry and lets you open the main door for a breeze on nice days. Fiberglass entry doors resist warping and fading better than wood.
Design Options for Your Home
Custom sizing, grille patterns, frame colors and hardware let you match the style of older homes or update a newer one. If your house has tall, narrow windows, we can replicate those proportions so the exterior keeps its character. Common Questions
Are your windows and doors energy efficient?
Yes. We install insulated low-E glass on most products and recommend low solar-gain glass for walls that take afternoon sun.
Can I customize the design of my windows?
You can choose custom sizes, grille patterns, interior and exterior colors and hardware finishes. We bring samples so you can see options on site.
Do you replace damaged or outdated frames?
Yes. If frames are rotted or out of square, we remove them and install full-frame units with new flashing and insulation.
Does heat-blocking glass make rooms darker?
Heavy tints can. Modern low-E coatings block much of the sun's heat while keeping glass fairly clear, so most homeowners prefer them over dark tint. We bring samples so you can compare.
