Repair or Replacement?
A repair fixes a defined area, such as a few wind-lifted shingles, a damaged ridge section or one wall of siding, using matching materials. A replacement removes the whole system down to the deck or sheathing and starts fresh. Replacement usually makes sense when hail has bruised shingles across multiple slopes, when matching materials are no longer available, or when the roof was already near the end of its life.
Our Damage Assessment
- Slope-by-slope roof inspection with photos of each hit or crease
- Checks of gutters, vents, flashing and other soft metals that show hail size
- Siding, window screens and trim reviewed for impact damage
- Attic check for leaks or daylight
- Measurements and a written scope you can share with your insurer
How the Insurance Process Usually Goes
- You report the damage and open a claim with your insurer.
- An adjuster inspects the property; we can be present to point out what we found.
- Your insurer issues its estimate; we review it with you for any missed items.
- Once you approve the work, we order materials and schedule the job.
You stay in control throughout. For more, see our Grenada storm and insurance page and the guide on telling hail damage from normal wear.
Rebuilding the Right Way
Permanent repairs use materials with manufacturer wind ratings installed to specification, with new flashing and underlayment where the scope calls for it. If you are also planning other upgrades, our main Grenada exterior and outdoor living page covers them, and the Grenada County hub lists nearby communities.
Common Questions
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most homes are reroofed in one to two days once materials arrive. After a widespread storm, material supply and weather can affect start dates, so we keep you updated.
Are your materials rated for high winds and hail?
Yes. We install shingles and metal roofing with published wind ratings, and impact-resistant shingles are available for added hail protection.
Will you handle the insurance claim for me?
The claim stays between you and your insurer. We support it with inspection photos, measurements, a written scope and, if you like, our presence at the adjuster's visit.
What affects the cost of storm repairs?
Roof size and pitch, material type, the number of layers removed, decking replacement and any siding or gutter damage all factor in. Your written estimate itemizes each one.
