Siding and Gutter Cost Factors
Siding pricing depends on the wall area, the product (vinyl, insulated vinyl, wood, board-and-batten or James Hardie fiber cement), how much old siding must be removed, and the condition of the sheathing underneath. Trim, soffit and fascia work, and the number of windows and corners to wrap, also affect the total. For gutters, the main factors are linear footage, gutter size, the number of downspouts and corners, whether you add guards, and any drainage work needed to carry water away from the foundation.

Window costs depend on the number of openings, the size and style of each unit, the product series and glass options, and whether the job is an insert replacement or a full-frame installation that requires new exterior trim. Entry and patio doors vary by material, glass and hardware.
Outdoor living projects have the widest range because they are custom builds. Size, structure type (pergola, pavilion or roofed porch), materials, grading and drainage, electrical and gas runs for kitchens and lighting, and site access all shape the final number.
