Typical Replacement Window Pricing
Quality replacement windows commonly run in the range of $450 to $1,200 per window installed. That spread is wide on purpose: actual cost depends on the house, the product and the scope, and we always recommend a free estimate before budgeting.
- Size and style: a standard single-hung costs less than a large casement or a bay unit.
- Frame material: vinyl is usually the most economical; fiberglass and wood-clad cost more.
- Glass options: Low-E coatings, gas fills and tinted or laminated glass add cost and performance.
- Condition of the opening: rotted sills or framing add repair time.
- Quantity: whole-house projects spread setup costs across more openings.
Energy Savings in a North Mississippi Climate
Long, humid summers make heat gain through glass the main problem. Low-E glass and tight seals reduce how hard your air conditioner works, and you notice it first in rooms that used to feel hot by mid-afternoon. Savings vary with the old windows, the house and your habits, so we do not promise a number, but comfort improves right away. Read more in our guide to energy-efficient windows.
What Install Day Looks Like
We work one opening at a time so the house is never wide open. Drop cloths go down, old units come out, new ones are set, insulated, flashed and trimmed, and debris leaves with us. Most homes stay livable throughout.
Choosing a Window and Door Company
Ask any contractor for proof of license and insurance, a written scope that names the exact product, and an explanation of both the manufacturer and workmanship warranties. Be wary of prices that expire the same day. Our list of questions to ask an exterior contractor is a good place to start.
Common Questions
Why is there such a wide price range per window?
Two windows the same size can differ a lot in material, glass and hardware, and some openings need repairs. The range covers that variety; your estimate narrows it to your house.
How disruptive is window and door installation?
Less than most people expect. We replace one opening at a time, protect floors and furniture, and clean up daily, so you can usually stay home throughout.
What window materials do best in humid weather?
Vinyl and fiberglass resist moisture and never need paint. Wood-clad windows work too, as long as the exterior cladding and seals are kept in good shape.
Do you install doors as well as windows?
Yes. We replace entry doors, patio doors and sliding glass doors, and can combine them with a window project.
