Why the Two Systems Belong in One Plan
Gutters hang on the fascia, and the fascia sits right where the siding, soffit and roof meet. If you re-side first and replace gutters a year later, the new installer may be fastening into trim that was never repaired, or cutting through fresh paint to add downspouts. Doing both together lets us:
- Repair or wrap the fascia boards once, before anything hangs on them
- Plan downspout locations so they land on solid trim and discharge away from the slab
- Match gutter color to the new siding and trim package
- Run one cleanup and one set of permits or HOA approvals where they apply

Signs Both Are Ready to Go
Walk around the house after a heavy Central Mississippi rain and look for:
- Gutters that spill over the front edge or pull away from the roofline
- Dark streaks, mildew or peeling paint on the wall directly under a gutter run
- Soft or swollen trim at corners and around downspouts
- Siding that is warped, faded unevenly or loose at the bottom course
- Soil washing out or standing water along the foundation
Several of these at once usually mean water has been getting where it should not for a while.
Upgrading Builder-Grade Exteriors in Gluckstadt
A lot of homes in the Gluckstadt area were built quickly, with thin vinyl, narrow gutters and only a few downspouts. Those choices look fine on day one but show their age early in our heat and storms. A common upgrade for us is heavier vinyl or James Hardie fiber cement on the walls paired with seamless six-inch gutters and extra downspouts on long or steep roof sections. Our page on Gluckstadt siding and gutter options covers the materials in more depth.
How We Sequence the Job
- Free inspection of walls, trim, roof edge and drainage, with photos.
- Remove old gutters, then old siding where it is being replaced.
- Repair sheathing and fascia, install house wrap and flashing.
- Install new siding and trim.
- Form and hang seamless gutters on site, add downspouts and extensions.
- Walk the property with you and clear every scrap of debris.
Common Questions
Can I replace only the gutters now and do siding later?
Yes. If the siding is still sound, we can hang new gutters on repaired fascia now. We will note any trim or siding issues so the later project does not undo the gutter work.
Do new gutters help the foundation?
They help a lot. Properly sized gutters and downspouts that discharge well away from the house keep water from saturating the soil along the slab, which matters on the clay soils common around the Jackson metro.
How long does a combined siding and gutter project take?
It depends on the size of the house and the material, but most combined jobs are measured in days, not weeks. Your estimate will include a realistic schedule.
Will you handle HOA approval?
We can supply product specs, color samples and drawings for your architectural review submission so the approval goes smoothly.
