Before the Crew Arrives
After you approve the estimate, we confirm colors, order materials and schedule a start date. We will ask you to move vehicles, patio furniture and anything hanging on exterior walls. Crews arrive, place a dumpster and cover landscaping, air conditioning units and walkways.
Tear-Off and Inspection of the Walls
We remove siding a section at a time rather than stripping the whole house at once. As each wall opens, we look at the sheathing for rot, insect damage and old leaks. Anything soft is cut out and replaced. This is the step that separates a long-lasting job from a cosmetic one, because new siding over damaged wood only hides the problem.
Weather Barrier and Flashing
Next comes house wrap, installed from the bottom up so each layer overlaps the one below and sheds water outward. Windows and doors get flashing tape applied in the correct sequence: bottom, sides, then top. Where a roof meets a wall, kick-out flashing steers water into the gutter instead of down the siding.
Siding, Trim and Finish Work
- Starter strip set level at the base of each wall.
- Corner posts and window trim installed before field panels.
- Panels hung course by course and fastened according to manufacturer directions.
- Gable vents, light blocks and outlet mounts added so fixtures sit flush.
- Caulking where required and a final check of every wall.
Cleanup and Walkthrough
Crews tidy up daily and run magnetic sweepers to catch nails. At the end we walk the property with you, review the work and answer questions. Need gutters too? See our Tupelo gutter installation services.
Common Questions
Will I be able to stay in my house?
Yes. All of the work is exterior. Expect noise during tear-off, and keep children and pets clear of the work zone.
What happens if it rains in the middle of my siding job?
We only open as much wall as we can wrap the same day, and house wrap protects the sheathing from rain until siding goes on.
Do you handle storm damage insurance claims for siding?
We document storm damage and can meet with your adjuster, then complete the repair scope your insurer approves.
How much of my yard will the crew need?
We need room for a material staging area, a dumpster near the driveway and a clear path around the house for ladders. We plan this with you during the estimate so your daily routine stays as normal as possible.
How does a stronger exterior protect patios and porches?
Correct flashing at porch roofs and ledger boards keeps water out of the framing where outdoor spaces attach to the house, which protects both.
