It Starts With Measurements
Roofs are priced by the square (100 square feet), adjusted for pitch, valleys, hips and penetrations like chimneys and vents. Siding is measured wall by wall, minus windows and doors, plus trim and corners. Gutters are priced by the linear foot with each downspout counted. We measure on site, sometimes supplemented by aerial imagery, so the itemized estimate reflects your actual house.
Materials: Good, Better, Best
The product line you choose drives a large share of the price. We often show two or three tiers, for example standard vinyl versus insulated vinyl versus fiber cement, or architectural shingles versus impact-rated versus metal. Each tier lists what you gain for the extra cost so you can decide where it is worth spending.
Labor, Access and Disposal
Steep roofs, multiple stories, tight lot lines and long carries from the driveway all add labor. Tear-off of old layers and dumpster or haul-away costs are listed separately so you can see them. Rural properties with long drives are factored in honestly rather than buried.
Handling What We Cannot See
Rotted decking, damaged sheathing and soft fascia often hide until old materials come off. Instead of padding the whole estimate, we list unit prices for hidden repairs, such as per sheet of plywood or per foot of fascia, and photograph anything we find before replacing it.
What Every Estimate Includes
- Scope of work in plain language
- Brand and product line for each material
- Underlayment, flashing and ventilation details for roofs
- Cleanup, disposal and site protection
- How workmanship and manufacturer warranties are documented

Common Questions
What makes Tekton Exteriors different from other contractors near Pocahontas?
We put the reasoning behind our price on paper, offer material tiers so you can choose, and handle roof, siding, gutters and windows with one team.
How do I know if I need exterior work at all?
Leaks, soft trim, cracked siding, overflowing gutters and drafty windows are the usual signs. A free inspection tells you what is urgent and what can wait.
Why does my estimate include unit prices for extra repairs?
Some damage only appears during tear-off. Listing the unit price ahead of time means you know exactly how any extra work will be billed.
How long is an estimate valid?
Material prices change, so estimates are typically valid for a set period stated on the document. We will update it if you need more time to decide.
